Today at work a box of brown envelopes went missing. We joined upper management in the search for this giant container of ugly postal items in vain. But guess what we found in an empty office while scouring? That’s right, a $5,000, 8-core, RAID5 SQL Server! It sat on an empty desk, waiting patiently to be found. It seems the IT manager that was let go on Monday never told anyone it was here. It could have been in there three days, or a week or more; no one knows.

Oh, I also got a massive raise today, a bunch of benefits and bonuses, and I’m being moved into a large (if weirdly shaped) office.
