Well, I’ve had an interesting day as far as reference goes. Not only did I finally get the definitions to prove to my girlfriend and mother once and for all that ham is NOT pork, but I also just basically got to tell someone that they may have just won the lottery. After opening a “really old chest”, the found two coins. One of them, and they showed it to me, looks exactly like a Brasher 1787 Doubloon, EB on Wing . I’m no appraiser, and since there are only 7 of these things known it fills me with doubt, but it looked exactly like coins I have seen from that era, slightly off-center pressing and all. Lord only knows if it’s real. If it is, they just found lucky number 8, and I got to tell them that the last one sold went for $750,000…in 1979.
