You’re hereby warned. Graeme is angry again, and has ranted a news post of feature length.
What Mr. Bush fails to realize when he calls the new gay marriage decisions “troubling” is that, yes, marriage is a “sacred institution between a man and a woman.” Sacred. That means what you’re saying means jack shit legally, Mr. President. Get your fucking church out of politics, please.
In fact, can I have dumbass moralizing removed everywhere? While I agree that CBS should be fined for the superbowl display, it’s not because I feel it’s somehow wrong for them to show Janet Jackson’s boob on TV (not that I really wanted to see it), but, rather, because there was no warning before hand. I think the FCC’s indecency and obscenity laws are some of the biggest examples of unconstitutionality this side of the Patriot Act and Evolution debates (don’t get me started again). TV ratings? Great! Saying that something can’t be show on TV? Violation of the Bill of Rights!
I hate evangelical religion, because they’re never happy unless they make everyone else miserable. Proof in point. Not just them, though, of course. Lieberman’s Jewish, and I’d love to shove him down a well.
But, hey, I’ll respect their constitutional right to say whatever the hell THEY please about their morals and how we’re corrupting their children. Lord forbid they give birth to a child smart enough to tell fantasy from reality, or bother to raise said kid themselves. Gotta have the government do it. I’m too busy with God and my Big Mac to care about my offspring!
Hypocrisy and Christianity. Who would have guessed? It’d be so much easier if they were all this way, but they’re not. It’s the ignornant few that ruin the religion for everyone else, like Travis. This country was founded on rationalism and the Enlightenment. Why is it run today by people who think John Locke is a comic book character?
